‘The Tree of Memories’
Representation of a tree found within my world The Zone

48×24 Canvas
Spackling paste, spray paint, wire, found rocks from a family trip, real branch from my parents front yard bush
Within my world The Zone, there is said to be a tree which holds all of the memories of the people who live within. The roots go deep underground and branches extend far across and high into the sky. Each branch containing the unique memories of each person. In order to discover the memories or extract specific ones, you have to remove branches or cut into the tree in order to extract the sap it spits out.
This tree in a way becomes like the human mind, some memories are always there but something has to trigger them in order for you to remember. While others are always ever present in the front of your mind whether that be good or bad.
